I enjoy working with children and believe that my job, is a calling. I feel it would be a pleasure to continue to serve with an organization that impacts the lives of so many children in a positive way.     

Zina Mayo has been in law enforcement for 19 years. She began her career with the City of Columbia Police Department in 1991. During this time she served as a community patrol officer working with the youth in the City’s housing area with the police department’s KOBAN program. In 2000 she became a certified School Resource Officer. 

In 2002 Zina left the City of Columbia Police Department and joined the Richland County Sheriff’s Department as a School Resource Officer. Zina is currently a School Resource Officer in Richland School District Two at Lonnie B. Nelson Elementary and Killian Elementary. She is also a certified DARE officer and a certified mentor through Big Brothers- Big Sisters.
